President Bai Chunli Witnesses the Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation Between CASH and JM

CAS President BaiChunli met with Johnson Matthey’s Chief Executive Robert MacLeod on July 31st, and witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings Co., Ltd. (CASH) and Johnson Matthey (JM). Deng Maicun, CAS Secretary General and Director of Operation Suervision Committee, Wu Lebin, Chairman of the Board of CASH, SuoJishuan, General Manager of CASH, Simon Zhang, General Manager of CECC, and Holly White, the British Embassy Counselor for Scientific and Technological Affairs attended the ceremony.

Chairman Wu Lebin met with Robert Macleod and other delegates of JM in CASH office. Chairman Wu introduced the CASH Interactive Innovation Strategy outline and pointed out the especially the New-Gas Chain project and its progress based on CECC and through CASH‘s promotion of the interaction of industry, innovation, and capital. Chairman Wu believed that this project can be well implemented by the cooperation and interaction between CASH and JM. He hoped more cooperation on energy, and new chemical materials will be widely developed.

Robert Macleod briefly introduced JM. JM is a global chemicals company and has a history of 200 years. It devotes to developing core technologies centering on catalyst, precious metal and specialty chemicals and owns many world famous catalyst products and technology brands, such as Davy Process Technology. Robert said it is be good thing to become the shareholder of CECC through strategic investment in June, 2015. JM looked forward to further deepening collaboration with CAS and CASH through CECC and North America MTO Project.

Both sides exchanged ideas and reached a consensus on joint development and commercialization on energy and new chemical materials, and on the establishment of a long-term cooperation communication platform. Robert and other JM delegates visited Sugon and CAS Institute of Process Engineering during the trip.
