First CAS International Innovation & Incubation Platform for Strategic Emerging Industries Launched in Chengdu

On Oct., 17th, under the guidance of Chengdu Municipal Government, the first CAS (Chengdu) International Innovation & Incubation Center for Strategic Emerging Industries was launched in Chengdu by Jinjiang District Government and CAS Innovation Incubation & Investment Co., Ltd. (CAS Innovation). Over 100 representatives from the government, universities, research institutes, enterprises, investment organizations and media participated in this event, including Mr. Wu Lebin, Chairman of CASH, and Mr. Wu Kai, member of the Standing Committee of Chengdu Municipal Party Committee. 

Mr. Wu Lebin delivered a keynote speech—Building a Canal System Connecting IP and IPO. He said that CASH would undertake nine major actions to achieve interaction between innovation, industry and capital in seven strategic emerging industries. It would focus on the forefront of science and technology, especially quantum, photon, ion, nanotechnology, low-protein rice, green city, smart city, healthy city, healthcare, small satellite, and methanol and natural gas. In this way, CASH would do its part to contribute to the economic restructuring in China. 

In phase one of the International Innovation & Incubation Platform, an International Innovation & Incubation Center, a Service Center for Science & Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and a Fund for incubation and investment in strategic emerging industries will be established. This platform aims at promoting technology transfer, and economic restructuring in Chengdu. 

This platform is an embodiment of the “Four Firsts” strategy of CAS and the “Interactive Innovation Initiative” of CASH. CAS Innovation is actively promoting Innovation & Incubation Platform in other cities, such as Shenzhen, Tianjin, Jinan, Kunming and Hefei. It will also cooperate with overseas partners, especially those in the US and the UK, so as to promote international technology transfer.
