CAS and SSE Signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On Mar 7, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement between CAS and SSE. Mr. Deng Maicun, as a member of the CAS Party Group and the secretary-general, Mr. Wu Qing, as the secretary of the SSE Party Committee and the SSE board director, signed the agreement. Such cooperation is a concrete step in implementing the national strategy of innovation-driven development as well as in promoting effective combination of S&T industrial policies and capital market. Mr. Wu Lebin, as the secretary of the CAS Beijing-based enterprise Party Group and the Chairman of the Board of CASH chaired the signing ceremony. The ceremony was attended by CASH General Manager, Mr. Suo Jishuan and SSE Vice board director, Mr. Zhang Dongke and others. 

According to the agreement, both parties will insist the marketability and legislation direction, promote effective combination of S&T industrial policies and capital market and enhance information sharing, sticking by the principle of complementary advantages and win-win cooperation, so as to support CAS enterprises in exploring more financing channels and cutting financing costs, thus creating a favorable environment for enterprise development and helping China turning into a sci-tech power. 

Mr. Deng Maicun pointed out, that CAS has been paying much attention to capital market, storing back-up resources for listing, steadily expanding the financing scale of listed companies and guiding qualified enterprises to issue various bonds. SSE, as an important organizer of domestic security market, has incomparable advantages in capital operation. Such cooperation will improve the combination of CAS-owned innovation and human resources with SSE-owned advantages in capital operation, talents, supervision and information, so as to promote development of emerging strategic industries. 

Mr. Wu Qing pointed out, there has always been good relationship between SSE and CAS. Now it is a crucial stage for innovation-driven development, which means this agreement is of great significance. SSE will continue to cooperate with CAS and make more targeted and effective efforts, serving the major course of national reform, enhancing supply-side reform and supporting transformation of real economy.
